BIO

ABOUT ME

Education is not to reform students or amuse them or to make them expert technicians. It is to unsettle their minds, widen their horizons, inflame their intellects, and teach them to think straight, if possible.

Any fool can write code that a computer can understand and good programmers write code that humans can understand.

I am glad that I am both, a good programmer and an excellent teacher.

HOBBIES

INTERESTS

Most good programmers do programming not because they expect to get paid or get adulation by the public, but in reality, it is fun to program.

To teach someone a programming language and desiging is as difficult as to develop a bug free software.

Black as the devil, hot as hell, pure as an angel, sweet as love. I, programmer who converts caffeine into code.

"... No one designed us. We're just an accident, Harold. We're just bad code. But the thing you built... It's perfect. Rational. Beautiful. By design."

Extractive Based Automatic Text Summarization

Sagar Patel, Vipul K. Dabhi, Harshadkumar B. Prajapati Journal Paper

Automatic text summarization is the process of reducing the text content and retaining the important points of the document. Generally, there are two approaches for automatic text summarization: Extractive and Abstractive. The process of extractive based text summarization can be divided into two phases: pre-processing and processing. In this paper, we discuss some of the extractive based text summarization approaches used by researchers. We also provide the features for extractive based text summarization process. We also present the available linguistic preprocessing tools with their features, which are used for automatic text summarization. The tools and parameters useful for evaluating the generated summary are also discussed in this paper. Moreover, we explain our proposed lexical chain analysis approach, with sample generated lexical chains, for extractive based automatic text summarization. We also provide the evaluation results of our system generated summary. The proposed lexical chain analysis approach can be used to solve different text mining problems like topic classification, sentiment analysis, and summarization.

We have presented an idea in this paper for detecting and tracking topics from news articles. Topic detection and tracking are used in text mining process. From data which are unstructured in text mining we pluck out information which are previously unknown. The objective of this paper is to recognize tasks occurred in different news sources. We are going to use agglomerative clustering based on average linkage for detecting the topics, calculate the similarity of topics using cosine similarity and KNN classifier for tracking the topics.

Performance Scrutiny of Thinning Algorithms on Printed Gujarati Characters and Handwritten Numerals

Sanket Suthar, Sagar Patel, Rahul Goradia, Bijal Dalwadi, Sandip Patel Conferences Published

We analyze the behavior of most common thinning algorithms on printed Gujarati text and handwritten numerals. We are focusing mostly on two types of algorithms: The first is serial thinning and second is parallel thinning. Thinning is more crucial when we focusing on structural feature-based character recognition. Thinned character reduced complication of the shape of the character. This analysis focuses on the actual result we get after applying serial and parallel thinning algorithms. Total five algorithms are used for experiments and applied on small, medium, big size of character data and on skewed character data. The results are useful where we designing classifiers for Gujarati text.

Student Counselling Management System-A Web Portal for Student Counselling

Sagar Patel, Parth Shah Conferences Published

Student Counselling Management System (SCMS) is developed to enhance counselling process. Current system maintains their records in MS Excel & Microsoft Word document, however it is not possible to maintain the data from multiple system in multi user environment. There is a possibility of lot of duplication and chances of mistake. Whenever some records are changed, counsellors need to update each and every documents. Also, there is no option to find and print previously saved records. Manual record maintenance also face various problems like no security; anybody can access any report and with sensitive data, also no summary is available for saved records. SCMS will simplify the process and reduce the manual paper work. It is used to smoothen the work of each counsellor who are facing problems currently, and making complete automization of manual process to computerized system.
